We are seeking an experienced Large Commercial/Industrial HVAC Service Technician to service, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair complex HVAC systems in commercial and industrial facilities. This role requires strong technical expertise, independent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain large commercial and industrial HVAC systems, including chillers, boilers, cooling towers, air handlers, rooftop units, VAV systems, and associated controls
- Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and performance testing on HVAC equipment
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and control sequences
- Identify and resolve electrical, mechanical, and control-related issues
- Commission and start up new or replacement HVAC equipment as required
- Document service work, repairs, and recommendations accurately and timely
- Communicate effectively with customers, building engineers, and internal teams
- Ensure all work complies with applicable codes, safety regulations, and company standards
- Participate in on-call rotation and respond to emergency service calls as needed
- Maintain tools, equipment, and service vehicles in a clean and safe condition
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED (technical school or apprenticeship preferred)
- 5+ years of experience servicing large commercial and/or industrial HVAC systems
- Strong knowledge of refrigeration, electrical systems, hydronics, and HVAC controls
- EPA Universal Certification required
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to climb ladders, work on rooftops, and in confined spaces
- Ability to stand, walk, kneel, and work for extended periods
